Kitchen Manager Montgomery Bell State Park

We have an outstanding leadership opportunity to work in a beautiful work environment and provide oversight of the day to day food preparation for the restaurant and banquet operations.  Montgomery Bell State Park located in Burns, TN is a preferred destination for business meetings and conferences as well as a vacation and camping destination for families.

Highlighted Responsibilities:
 
  • Oversee daily kitchen operations for the restaurant and banquet/catering events.
  • Ensure the highest food quality and adheres to service standards. Monitor food preparation methods and portion sizes.
  • Responsible for placing orders for food supplies is based on projected business levels and pricing from a variety of vendors. Ensure products ordered are correct and meet acceptable standards. Conducts regular food inventory reviews to minimize loss.
  • Prepare shift schedules for kitchen staff based on projected business volume to best manage labor costs.
  • Work with the Group Sales team to coordinate details of events and conferences.
  • Maintain food quality, food cost, service, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Keep current with the evaluation of current menu trends and incorporating seasonal food and beverages.

Requirements This position oversees the kitchen staff and food preparation for the park’s restaurant and banquet services.  The preferred candidate will have a minimum of five years of kitchen experience providing restaurant and catering operations including at least 2 years of supervisory experience.  A bachelor’s degree in culinary arts, or food and beverage management is preferred and can substitute for up to 3 years of required experience.
