Assistant Facility Manager - Singleton

Responsible for assisting the Facility Manager in planning, coordinating and controlling operational and program functions, including the supervision of assigned personnel and of the facility. Successful candidate will have general knowledge of the principles and practices of personnel management. General knowledge of OSHA safety standards. Must be able to prepare and present comprehensive information to management and non-management employees, both verbally and in writing. Ability to organize and manage concurrent and future projects. Ability to handle member/general public complaints in a pleasant and calm manner. Ability to plan and schedule the work of others and motivate staff productivity. Ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships with all city departments and employees.  

Essential job functions include but are not limited to: Assists with staffing level needs, and interviews and recommends the hiring of facility staff. Assists with training, supervision, evaluating and discipline (if necessary) all assigned staff, including contract employees. Recruits, trains, and manages a volunteer staff base for special events and ongoing activities. Assists Facility Manager in preparation and managing of annual budget for operations of Center. Assists in assessing community-programming needs for target audience, and determine needed changes to ensure best participation and overall success. Develops public relations, advertising goals and advertising materials for the facility and its programs, including preparing newsletters, brochures, public calendars, City website, social media, press releases and offering presentations to public interests groups if needed. Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of recreation. Assumes all responsibilities of the Facility Manager in the absence of the Manager. Other duties assigned by higher management.

Requirements Minimum age of 18 with valid TN driver’s license to remain valid as a condition of continued employment. Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management or a closely related field, plus a minimum of five years of supervisory experience in parks and recreation and/or administration, or a combination of education and experience. Prefer Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) Certification, OR Certified Parks and Recreation Executive (CPRE) Certification but not required. Applicant must pass a background and driver’s license check and a physical exam, including a drug test.  Bartlett resident preferred, but not required.  Will work in a non-smoking environment.
