2022 TRPA/NRPA

CERTIFIED PLAYGROUND SAFETY INSPECTOR COURSE
February 8 & 9, 2022
Blended Learning

Dear CPSI Participant,

Everyone should have received your books. If you have not received your books, please call Candi at 615-790-0041 so we can track them down.

Unfortunately, Sumner County’s current positivity rate is 50.72%. Therefore, due to the current Tennessee State law, current COVID numbers, and NRPA’s policy for safety meeting in-person, we are converting this class from in-person to Blended Learning.

Below is the information we provided you in the brochure, on the registration website, and in your confirmation email

· Masks cannot be required under Tennessee State law, however, they are strongly recommended. NRPA will allow the in-person class to happen as long as the transmission rates do not meet or exceed the CDC High Transmission Risk rate in the county hosting the event within the week leading up to the event.
· There has been greater than 100 new cases per 100,000 persons within the host’s county in the past seven days
· Information on county-specific transmission rates can be found here: https://covid.cdc.gov/covid-data-tracker/#county-view
· If the transmission rates are high the week before the class, we will convert this to a hybrid blended learning class. There will be no refunds if we convert to blended learning!

What is Blended Learning?
The Blended Learning involves taking the online course, reading and studying your manuals, and a 4-hour Zoom class with a CPSI Instructor. Then you will make an appointment to go to a testing center near you to take the computerized exam.

You will have access to NRPA’s online learning modules for 90 days after you receive the email from them with your log-in information. We encourage you to complete as much of this before the Zoom class as possible, but you will have access after the Zoom class too. You will also have 90 days from the date of your exam email to sign up for a testing center date and time to take the exam.

We are pleased to be able to offer the Zoom classes on Tuesday 2/8 from 8-Noon and Wednesday 2/9 from 8-Noon. Please reply to this email and let us know which Zoom class date you would like to attend so we can send you the correct log-in information.

NRPA is currently adding everyone to their online education system and will send you an email with your credentials to access the online learning and information about making an appointment to take the exam. They will also send you the answers to the fill-in-the-blank section of your manual.

Hotel Reservations
If you made your reservations through the TRPA block with the Holiday Inn Express, we have canceled those for you. If you made reservations outside the block, you will need to cancel those yourself. If you are not sure, please call or email Candi (615-790-0041 or candi@trpa.net) first as we have a list of those that were in the block so we will not overwhelm the hotel front desk.

We appreciate your understanding and encourage everyone to stay safe. If you have any questions, please contact Candi.
